Day in the life of
Marketing Manager – Kerry Charlotte
A typical day for me in the marketing world is waking up and doing my self-care practices – I know I can’t serve my clients well unless I am fully tuned in. So yoga, tea, sometimes in the sun. I typically check on the social media accounts in the morning and respond to any messages or comments we have received. Sometimes I look through the platforms to find inspiration for upcoming projects. Then, I move to a desk setting to get started on emails. I check if there are any new tasks added to the project management system that we use – Asana. Then starts creation. I could be researching and writing blogs, making graphics for social media, culling through wedding albums, making submissions, and so on. After lunch, I take time to do some admin work. This is mostly organization, strategy, or scheduling content for future releases. Then I go back and recheck my creative task now that I have taken a break from looking at it for a while. Then I schedule that and finish out for the day. The days are always very different. I also have a few other clients outside of the wedding industry that I work for too. So I am constantly learning more about new markets every day!
Pros
I get to learn about a bunch of different industries. Autonomy, freedom, flexibility.
Cons
It is hard to be self-taught for sure and stay up on trends to be a diverse marketing expert.
