Jack Story
Advertising Manager
Assured Marketing

There’s no such thing as a typical day, one of the many reasons I love my job, my days are ever-changing and I get to work with so many different creative leads from videographers to content marketing specialists. Bringing them together to create a perfectly optimized advertising campaign for my clients. My role is often, leading on market research for my clients and using data to select the most beneficial path for each advertising campaign. Then managing teams to ensure existing advertising campaigns budgets are spent efficiently and the ads are running effectively to reach the most people.

Although there is no typical day within my role, there are some common themes. The first thing I will do every morning is to check emails that may have come through while I was home, as my role involves contacting prospective links, advertisers, and journalists it is important that I get any email seen as quickly as possible.

After checking through my emails we usually arrange a video call with any of the team leaders working on our current advertising project, this allows me to get updates on the project and come together as a type to ensure a stunning end result.

Usually, from this point it is a large amount of ad-hoc tasks to do with the project as no project is the same however there is one more thing that occurs regularly and that is meeting with the client, at Assured Marketing we believe it is important to have as many touchpoints with the client as possible. This allows us to ensure that they are happy with how the project is coming along and gives them an opportunity to add any input or suggestions that they may have, as well as this gives us time to build a strong relationship with the client and as a result a more open stream of conversation.

Pros

It is a very social role, I get to meet amazing people and work alongside extremely talented individuals capable of creating stunningly designed visuals and content. By working closely with them to generate results for clients makes my job extremely fun and rewarding when we achieve the level of success that many of our campaigns generate. Some would say that con would be the high pressure, and for others, I could conceive the idea of this, however, this is one of my driving factors. The unpredictability of my job ensures it never grows old, as no two days are the same and I am constantly able to meet new business owners and new talented creatives who all want the same things.

Cons

I can often be on calls for large majorities of the day leaving me little time to complete day to day tasks which as a result places a lot of pressure on me and my team to ensure everything is managed effectively.
