Day in the life of
Content Marketer – Francesca Nicasio
I’ve always thought that words have power and I’ve been able to turn my love of language into a career in the tech sector as a content marketer.
I’m always up before the sun, exercise, breakfast, and then it’s time to get to work. I start my day by checking emails and other messages to see if there’s anything new that needs my attention since the day before. If there is, I add it to my list and then prioritize what needs to get done.
My days consist of crafting content that helps merchants do better business. Every day I consult with businesses, find out their goals, and then show them what content marketing can do. I educate them on what content marketing is, what it can do, and then present campaigns that will help them get to where they want to be.
My internal responsibilities consist of generating content ideas for our blog and social media channels, collaborating with the rest of our team to figure out what kind of content is going to best serve our goals, creating content, and checking in on our competition to see how they’re using content and also looking for general trends in content marketing. It’s more than just writing, it’s writing effectively, and that’s where the fun is for me. Synthesizing what we’re trying to do, what’s working right now for others, and creating original content that’s going to move people closer to becoming customers (or repeat customers).
I really like what I do and I’m constantly learning more about it and improving my craft. If there’s one drawback it’s that some people want to see a direct correlation between campaigns and results and that’s not always possible. I’ll usually tell stubborn clients that if it wasn’t effective there wouldn’t be a whole industry dedicated to doing it.
