Day in the life of
Travel Blogger – Nicoletta Barbata
I am a freelance writer based on the beautiful island of Santorini (Greece). I run a blog about the island. My typical day looks like this:
- Reading and answering email from my readers and partners
- Updating social media (FB, IG, Pinterest, Youtube)
- Researching for future blog posts
- Writing for clients
- Shootings (I am a photographer as well) when there is a good light
- Admin task: invoicing, scheduling deadlines, searching for new collaborations
Pros
It is my dream job. I am a freelance, I can manage my own time and work at my peace. I love writing and I am lucky enough to be asked to write about my beloved island (not only but mainly). I read a lot for my research and I can learn new skills and get knowledge about stories, histories, projects.
Cons
The cons are that sometimes is difficult to be consistent, working from home is great but you can easily be distracted and sometimes I would like to be in a coworking kind of place (there isn’t any on the island) where I could share my thoughts with other creatives and be inspired by them (thanks Zoom for the virtual connection!).
