Day in the life of
Pilates Instructor – Tegan Barton
I have an online Pilates studio, so a typical day for me is getting set up about 15 minutes before a class is due to start, login to Zoom & let the participants into the room. I like to leave time on either side of class to chat to my clients. This is what takes up most of my time. Setting up the booking systems & website was time-consuming ming at the start, however now works beautifully.
Pros
I get to do Pilates every day with my clients. I get to have interaction with people even though it is over Zoom. The biggest pro for me is I can take my classes everywhere and anywhere, all I need is my laptop, tripod and Pilates mat and I am good to go!
Cons
I miss out on full face to face interactions and working with other instructors. When your the owner & work solo it can sometimes feel isolating, however, I’ve been conscious of this and reached out to mentoring groups on Facebook, which has been a big help.
