As the owner of an event production company, I’m responsible for building and sustaining relationships in the community through networking and industry events. This involves virtual workshops, mastermind/strategy sessions, and social gatherings (in-person and virtual). Consistently participating in these activities ensures that my clients and team members have access to the best venues and vendors in town and in turn, lays the foundation for successful events in our community.

As a boutique agency, much of my day also involves providing 1:1 service for our clients and staying updated on all of the trends, and now safety protocols related to hosting events. It’s more important now than ever to be creative in how you’re developing your events and considering the guest experience from the outset. How can you maximize space with limited capacity? How do you communicate safety so all involved are comfortable with an in-person experience? Thinking about your event from a strategic standpoint before you consider the frills of decor and F&B ensures your client’s goals are being met and your guests’ needs are clearly understood.

Events are a fast-paced, high-energy environment to work in. Much of the work that we do is extremely fulfilling because there is an end result/output that is tangible and visible. On the flip side, the event industry is not a 9-5 type of job. Your work requires you to work outside of a typical workday and because it is always attached to a deadline (event day) the urgency seems to never go away causing stress for those who don’t have proper time management skills.
