I am the owner of my company, Founder and Head Cosmetic Chemist of Freelance Formulations. I work with brands to formulate new cosmetic products before mass production.

Much of my day is spent discussing projects with clients and employees, as well as researching and sourcing ingredients and chemicals for cosmetics.

Pros

I love everything about my job. I have always been passionate about chemistry, and cosmetics are so prevalent and important to our culture, so even though I work hard, it doesn’t always feel that way. I have a great team on my side.

Cons

The hardest part of my job was getting started in my own business, and getting used to being my own boss. Don’t get me wrong, I wouldn’t have it any other way, but it was definitely a change right after I left my 9-5!
