Day in the life of
Catering Sales Manager – Estee Gordon
I am a Catering Sales Manager with Constellation Culinary Group with The New York Botanical Garden.
A typical day for me is speaking to booked clients helping to plan their wedding day – scheduling tastings for their wedding, speaking to their wedding planner coordinating timelines, rentals, giving suggestions on vendors, updating floorplans. When I’m not discussing wedding planning with a current client, I am working to book new business, showing new clients the grounds of the venue, discussing all the ways I can make their day special. I show event planners the venue I work for and how it’s a great space for their clients, I negotiate contracts based on date availability.
Pros
I get to be a part of the best day in a couple’s lives. I’m executing the happiest moments, I am getting them down the aisle to say “I do” to the love of their lives. I am a staple in a couple’s love story, and for that, I will always be grateful.
Cons
While I am a part of milestones in my clients’ lives, I sometimes sacrifice holidays and milestone moments within my own personal life, however, it’s a part of the job and I’m fortunate to do a job I love everyday.
Event Managers
The main responsibility of Event Managers is to plan and coordinate events. They might do this for companies, individuals, or any kind of group that needs to have an event. They play a critical role in the event from planning to execution.
