Besides the “typical day” things that Event Planners do, they Consult with customers to determine objectives and requirements for events such as meetings, conferences, and conventions. They might also Monitor event activities to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and laws, satisfaction of participants, and resolution of any problems that arise.

On a weekly to monthly basis, Event Planners Review event bills for accuracy, and approve payment. and Plan and develop programs, agendas, budgets, and services according to customer requirements.

In addition, they Coordinate services for events, such as accommodation and transportation for participants, facilities, catering, signage, displays, special needs requirements, printing and event security.

Although specific duties may vary, many of them Inspect event facilities to ensure that they conform to customer requirements.

To some Event Planners, it is also their responsibility to Negotiate contracts with such service providers and suppliers as hotels, convention centers, and speakers.

A typical week or month for them might include:

Correspond with customers to answer questions or resolve complaints.
Monitor organizational compliance with regulations.
Verify accuracy of records.
Authorize financial actions.
Develop financial or business plans.
Organize special events.
