Day in the life of
Sexologist – Katie Lasson
As a sexologist my main thing is to understand what is my clients physical and mental situation with sex, meaning are there any health issues that might affect them psychologically, is someone affecting my clients psychology (family, friends, or partner).
When I know the foundation I can start therapy or find ways how to make them feel better. Also, a big part is recommendations and educating clients and members of different associations. Because the lack of sex education is sad.
My days are not the same and varies depending on how many clients or speeches I have but I have tried to divide my responsibilities between clients, educating and learning/reading about new research, so that there is balance.
For example:
- 7.00-7.30: Morning exercises
- 8.00-10.00: Emails
- 10-13.00: Clients
- 13.00-13.30: Lunch
- 14.00-16.00: Lecture
And I read a lot and listen to podcasts depending what how much time I have left 🙂
Pros and Cons
I cannot find many negative aspects about being a sexologist, but sometimes friends and family take advantage of my occupation, but I really do not want to take work at home 🙂
Positive sides are endless, first I can help so many couples and singles find pleasure in life, teach them to enjoy their body, also mentally I can reduce their stress levels and when I see the results, it is a huge gift for me.
The other thing is no routine, my days are never the same.
And last but not least, I use and practice techniques on myself too, so this is pure joy and fun.
