Ophthalmologist – Dr. Jeffrey Dello Russo
95% percent of my time is spent in surgery. As an ophthalmologist, you’re focusing your time on a very high impact procedure. It’s a major lifestyle change for people. It’s an incredibly rewarding profession for the impact it can make on people.
I’m very focused and take it incredibly seriously. I work very hard and have multiple practices. I work 6 days a week, so obviously I am not putting lifestyle as my number one priority. I care deeply about my profession and that is my main focus.
Pros
Lasik is an elective procedure, so there’s not a pressure of an emergency lifesaving situation. I have some control of my schedule, and overall the reward of changing someone’s life is incredible.
Cons
You are taking on great responsibility. Patients willingly go into this procedure, and their expectations are at an all-time high. There is a lot of pressure and a lot to live up to.
