Day in the life of
CPR Instructor – Kayla Jean T. Gardner
Our BLS (basic life support), CPR/First Aid class starts at 9 am. From 9am-1pm we teach our class. We use manakins, mouth guards and with the help of a certified instructor, some video, and interactive skills training, we help people save lives.
Before each class, we wipe everything down and get the video that’s needed ready. We also set up the manikins and chairs that’s needed. After the class making sure everything is wiped down again and properly sterilized.
I also do the marketing for CPR & More here in Rancho Cucamonga. So after if I’m not doing the CPR class then I’m sitting there calling people, sending emails, going out to places. I also do that after classes as well. Or if there is another class, I’ve had scheduled I can do that as well.
Learning CPR, the proper way can help in an emergency. When an emergency happens and there isn’t anyone who knows CPR there’s nothing you can do until help arrives. If you know how to perform CPR properly it can make a huge difference between life and death!!
Pros
Feeling good that we are here to help out our community. Having lifesaving knowledge. Having confidence.
Cons
Honestly, there aren’t many from my point of view. I love my job if anything it would be- Dealing with people who don’t want to take the class bunt are required to because of their job. Also, dealing with a lot of BIG personalities.
