My first job of the day is checking all of our social media platforms for any notifications and messages that may have come in over night. Then I would usually make sure that our social media is scheduled for the next few days according to our social media strategy. Then I might work on some content creation which could me writing blogs, captions, creating graphics, creating videos for TikTok, reels, or YouTube. I would also check in with our research team about any new research that has been published and then write press releases to send to journalists about our work.

Key Responsibilities

• Social media management – Planning social media content, coming up with strategies and campaigns, creating paid-for social media ads
• Email marketing – Managing the monthly newsletter, collating content, writing the newsletter, editing
• Influencer management – Recruiting and coordinating influencer content as part of campaigns and ongoing brand ambassadors
• Content creation – Taking photos and filming videos to go up on the social media
• Managing the blog – Planning and writing blog posts
• Writing press releases and contacting journalists – Creating press and media releases about new biodiversity research or upcoming events and nurturing relationships with journalists so they write stories about our work
