Typical day

On a daily basis, HVAC Technicians Observe and test system operation, using gauges and instruments. They Test lines, components, and connections for leaks.

Besides the “typical day” things that HVAC Technicians do, they Braze or solder parts to repair defective joints and leaks. They might also Adjust or replace worn or defective mechanisms and parts and reassemble repaired systems.

On a weekly to monthly basis, HVAC Technicians Read blueprints to determine location, size, capacity, and type of components needed to build refrigeration system. and Supervise and instruct assistants.

In addition, they Perform mechanical overhauls and refrigerant reclaiming.

Although specific duties may vary, many of them Cut, bend, thread, and connect pipe to functional components and water, power, or refrigeration system.

To some HVAC Technicians, it is also their responsibility to Adjust valves according to specifications and charge system with proper type of refrigerant by pumping the specified gas or fluid into the system.
