Day in the life of
Chief Strategy Officer – Louisa Lawless
The inspiring part of my role is that it’s dynamic. Every day offers a multitude of challenges and opportunities, and that is always rewarding. I embody the “never a dull moment” saying.
As a CSO, I am responsible for bringing all the functions of our organization together, from rallying the production team for Perfect Hydration Alkaline Water, to tasting flavors of KOE Organic Kombucha, to creating distribution plans alongside our sales team, and supporting our marketing team. I focus on what drives positive change.
I am often asked to make quick decisions on my feet, that help direct movement with sales, marketing, operations, and brand. But no single day is like any other, and I love the energy that comes with that.
I am definitely what we consider a generalist in the CPG industry. I navigate between all the various departments of the organization. That can be very liberating, but also calls for a lot of multi-tasking.
I have found I am most successful rallying our teams, and empowering them to do their best work. By hiring the best and brightest and giving them full autonomy to build successful beverage brands, I am able to learn from everyone around me. Fully harnessing the talents of those around you takes a lot of years and a lot of patience, but you will always see optimum output. I have personally done every job possible, to ensure I have walked a mile in my colleague’s shoes.
It takes a lot of bandwidth and patience to be in an executive role, but the power of the team and watching them win is truly the best part of what I do each and every day.
