Day in the life of
Automobile Dealership General Manager – Luke Bratlie
I am the General Manager at Holmes European Motors (which includes Mercedes, Volvo Cars, Jaguar & Land Rover).
I’ve got a job with diverse responsibilities. But what I love most about being the GM of Holmes European is the fact that I get to coordinate how some of the world’s finest luxury vehicles are delivered to our community. This includes everything from upholding brand standards all the way through making sure the parking lot is clean for our customers. Other parts of my day involve tracking sales, communication with the OEMs about market & global initiatives, ensuring positive customer outcomes, and training sales.
Pros
Some of the highlights are getting to be on the receiving end of the awards we’ve won. While I’m usually the guy who gets that exciting phone call, we win it as a team. From our techs who work tirelessly to keep our customer’s vehicles at their best all the way to our titling department. So many hours go into the sale and service of a vehicle and I’m honored to represent such a dedicated staff. I also take the time to reach out to every team member who did a great job when a customer survey comes back. Real leadership is about reaching down. Letting people know what they did well. Sometimes you can get lost in the motions of every day. But when a customer comes back and has something special to say, it’s nice to have that as a reminder.
Cons
I can’t say that there are any. Every day is another chance to serve my neighbors and community.
