Typical day

On a daily basis, Surgical Technologists Count sponges, needles, and instruments before and after operation. They Hand instruments and supplies to surgeons and surgeons’ assistants, hold retractors and cut sutures, and perform other tasks as directed by surgeon during operation.

1 of the main responsibilities as A Surgical Technologist is to Scrub arms and hands and assist the surgical team to scrub and put on gloves, masks, and surgical clothing.

Some may also Provide technical assistance to surgeons, surgical nurses, or anesthesiologists.

In a normal work day, another thing that Surgical Technologists do is they Wash and sterilize equipment, using germicides and sterilizers.

In addition to that, they Prepare, care for, and dispose of tissue specimens taken for laboratory analysis..
