Typical day

On a daily basis, Ophthalmic Technologists Administer topical ophthalmic or oral medications. They Assess refractive condition of eyes, using retinoscope.

1 of the main responsibilities as An Ophthalmic Technologist is to Assist physicians in performing ophthalmic procedures, including surgery.

Some may also Calculate corrections for refractive errors.

In a normal work day, another thing that Ophthalmic Technologists do is they Collect ophthalmic measurements or other diagnostic information, using ultrasound equipment, such as A-scan ultrasound biometry or B-scan ultrasonography equipment.

In addition to that, they Conduct ocular motility tests to measure function of eye muscles..

Administer non-intravenous medications.

Operate diagnostic or therapeutic medical instruments or equipment.
