In addition, they Excavate and grade ditches, and lay and join pipe for water and sewer service.

Although specific duties may vary, many of them Disassemble and remove damaged or worn pipe.

To some Helpers of Pipelayers, it is also their responsibility to Install gas burners to convert furnaces from wood, coal, or oil.
