On a daily basis, Funeral Attendants Perform a variety of tasks during funerals to assist funeral directors and to ensure that services run smoothly and as planned. They Greet people at the funeral home.

1 of the main responsibilities as A Funeral Attendant is to Offer assistance to mourners as they enter or exit limousines.

Some may also Close caskets at appropriate point in services.

In a normal work day, another thing that Funeral Attendants do is they Direct or escort mourners to parlors or chapels in which wakes or funerals are being held.

In addition to that, they Place caskets in parlors or chapels prior to wakes or funerals..

Greet customers, patrons, or visitors.
Assist patrons with entering or exiting vehicles or other forms of transportation.

Besides the “typical day” things that Funeral Attendants do, they Obtain burial permits and register deaths. They might also Provide advice to mourners on how to make charitable donations in honor of the deceased.

On a weekly to monthly basis, Funeral Attendants Assist with cremations and the processing and packaging of cremated remains. and Act as pallbearers.

In addition, they Transport the deceased to the funeral home.

Although specific duties may vary, many of them Supervise funeral processions and assist with cemetery parking.

To some Funeral Attendants, it is also their responsibility to Deliver floral arrangements or other items to family members of the deceased.
